HIGHWAY TO HELL

I'm on my way to Los Angeles this weekend to enjoy some sunny weather, great food at my all time favorite restaurant, to spend some time with a few of the favorites and of course to get in a little vintage shopping and some lingerie spying. I am hopeful to check out an amazing exhibit at the lacma - the lobster bathing suit is there in person (do you think they will notice it if I borrow it for a while?), have a little lunch at the Beverly Hills Hotel (Fountain Cafe please), and take a stroll through the Descanso Gardens. Of course I've got a small shopping list of stores that I want to hit up but I can't share my secret spots until after I've swooped through! ;) Hope to run into some of you! xx.L

JUST ELEGANT

My new labels just arrive in the mail! They are everything I had hoped for - the perfect combination of peach & cream, a tiny little size (just under an inch) that will hopefully not stick out of place when wearing and the best part? These little bits are soft as feathers. This was perhaps the most important part for me as I personally hate scratchy tags & I was most concerned that the wearer would chop the tag out if it was to scratchy. Fear not, these are perfect and just elegant in every way. Its the little things that make me excited to crawl back in my sewing cave. In this case, very little things and I'm pleased as peaches! xx.L

YOU KNOW

I've FINALLY just ordered my new mini knicker labels and you know what that means! This collection that has been waiting for a year to get finished will finally be unveiled. ;) xx.L

I'M SHAKIN

This year was probably the best vegas trip ever, in fact I had so much fun I really do need a relaxing vacation after this vacation because "relax" we did not. This year in particular, 98% of my rockabilly family came out from all around the world, some I was expecting and a few surprise attacks in there (the Dutch!). We spent most of our time it seems hanging out chatting in the hallways, laying by the pool and dancing the night away in the record hops. Bands? We didn't really care. Car show? We didn't really care. Shopping? We didn't really care either. Hang outs yes please. That and we really missed everything happening during the day because we were still sleeping (haha). My partner in crime and I won one of the swimsuit contests, the only one with actual prizes and after that spent our victorious after-life giggling all about it. Our theme this year was a "Some like it hot" nautical theme after spending a few days on Coronado island where it was filmed and I think my Captain looks smashing! Was excited to meet many of you bloggers and readers out there and if you know me or noticed, I am not much of a stroller but this song I leave you with here is probably the only song I will actually get on the dance floor for a stroll. Cheers! xx.L

RELIC VINTAGE

One of my dearest friends in the world finally buckled down and opened up his very own vintage shop! It has been a truly long time coming for his own doors to open up and I do believe we now have the world's finest vintage shop in San Francisco! Do you want to know what the best part about this is? Yep, there in the corner in that lovely armoire is some of my lingerie for you to go and actually see, try on, giggle, twirl and take home along with a rack out on the floor of my signature pencil skirts! For those of you that don't know, these pencil skirts really do take on a life of their own. Built for a small waist, curvy hips and that perfect nip at the hem so you have to wiggle when you walk, yep these are finally back out from being in back stock and are ready for you. So without further ado, if you should find yourself in the Haight-Ashbury district of our gorgeous city, stop by Relic Vintage at 1605 Haight Street, San Francisco CA 94114 and pick up some goodies! Do your best to hurry down there as Mr. Oran Scott has been open only a week so far and my pieces are already selling away like hotcakes! xx.L

SHE LIVES IN A CAVE

Well a sewing cave that is. I've been blessed with several new clients this year who have been happily taking up all of my free time and with that this little old town of San Francisco is looking mighty fine with more of that signature wiggle walking the streets! One of my lovely clients had me whip her up some slips to match said wiggle dresses and I just adore the colors she chose! To match the dresses of course ;) how fun is that? The best part about all of it really is that I am able to work on my lingerie collection again. It is so exciting to sew clothing for ladies but for me, my biggest thrill as all you lovely readers know is working on little bits to lounge around in. xx.L

PINKY GOLD DREAMS

I might be the only girl in the world who would wear Pink Lame instead of white on her wedding day. ;) xx.L

VITAL STATISTICS

"Good underwear shapes your body and your life. It's essentially the art of being a Woman, and, like the art of courtship and chivalry, is perilously close to extinction. I'm a firm believer that the ritual of getting dressed is the ritual of daily self-creation, and the first thing that you put on is your bra and knickers. The world doesn't see what is underneath your dress, but if it makes you feel fantastic then that in itself is a great source of power. Think of it like method acting or a pretty secret for self-respect. When a door is chivalrously opened or a seat offered, it's the difference between a "Thank you" rather than blundering about with a "Well are you sure?" And let's be clear, Men don't really care about underwear, they want it off as soon as possible. We wear it for ourselves. A love affair with lingerie is a love affair with you.
